Сегодня я хочу поговорить о двух романах Агаты Кристи и первый из них – «Убийство в Восточном экспрессе», написанном в 1934 году.

Это детективный роман об убийстве Сэмюэла Ретчетта – американца, путешествующего в числе других пассажиров из Стамбула в Лондон в поезде под названием «Восточный экспресс». И совершенно случайно в этом же поезде путешествует знаменитый детектив Эркюль Пуаро, который при помощи мсье Бука(владельца компании спальных вагонов) и доктора Ставроса Константина в роли его помощников и расследует данное происшествие.

И вот это тот самый случай, когда убийцу угадать очень сложно по мере расследования. Я думаю, что это мало кому удастся, из тех, кто не знаком с данной темой, ни в качестве романа, ни в качестве фильма. Я такие детективы не очень люблю – мне нравится наравне с автором раскручивать сюжет и искать убийцу. И особенно хорошо, когда я предвосхищаю развязку. Такое бывает не так уж и редко.

По книге снят один фильм 1974 года и выпущена одна серия сериала «Пуаро Агаты Кристи». Мне не понравилось ни то, ни это. Фильм представляет нам в роли Пуаро какого-то горбуна с очень неприятной внешностью и дикими манерами. Второй эту ошибку исправляет – Пуаро здесь прекрасен, как всегда в этой роли Дэвид Суше. Но обе экранизации коверкают сюжет в угоду каким-то своим целям, перевирая детали, которые весьма важны в детективной истории.

Будем ждать новый фильм – хотя я не думаю, что сюжет будет сохранен. Сейчас это совсем не модно. Модно все взрывать, рисовать на компе какие-то безумные декорации, а потом все искусственно затемнять так сильно, чтобы не было видно корявой графики.

Добавлено. Новый фильм разочаровал. Поезд компьютерный, игра актеров ненатуральная. Джонни Деппа показали всего пять минут – а на роль врача взяли негра – чертова толерастия! Да и посол Адриани чертов каратист. Последняя сцена разоблачения в заваленном тоннеле, где все герои сидят за столом на стульях режиссеру, наверное, показалась гениальной. Это совсем не так.

Второй роман «Смерть на Ниле», написанный в 1937 году. Это рассказ о путешествии на пароходе «Карнак», который везет туристов по Нилу осматривать древние достопримечательности.

Я читала старый советский перевод, где книга так и называлась – «Убийство на пароходе Карнак».

И это как раз тот тип детектива, который мне нравится. Кто убийца я знала сразу после свершения преступления и угадала на сто процентов. Отчего и читать мне этот детектив было гораздо приятнее.

А еще – атмосфера книги живо напомнила мне мое собственное путешествие по Египту и по Нилу. Описанные места мне знакомы не все, но сам фон – определенно.

По роману снято так же две экранизации. Фильм 1978 года, к сожалению, рассказывает нам какую-то свою историю – что имеет мало общего с оригиналом.

А вот серия «Пуаро Агаты Кристи» - это самое оно. За исключением нескольких мелких огрехов – история точная. А это как раз то, что нужно, в случае, если лень читать книгу.
